Love, lies and murder, this play is based on the true events and the tragic murder of a young woman in 1827, this modern play tells the story of a media sensation that became the subject for numerous newpaper articles, songs, plays and the bloodcurdling Victorian melodrama known as theThe Red Barn Murder,
By contrast, this modern adaptation tells the story from Maria's perspective and brings with it a celebration of her life and times. Recent productions have described the play as: "a glorious piece of folk theatre," "a joyous play that gives life and dignity to the victim" and a "thrilling retelling of a Victorian melodrama".
We will be staging the play from Thursday 29th to Saturday 31st October.
